More often I will deviate when I am typing a number. For instance if I have to type a period in a number such as in the constant e (2.718281828) I will often type the period with my right thumb to avoid obstructions, and I do similarly if I have to type a long number with commas. Although I would usually write 7 billion instead of 7,000,000,000, if I chose to use commas I would usually type them with my right thumb. As with my left hand, I generally use the same technique of placing the shortest fingers on the lower rows and the longest fingers on the higher rows as much as possible. As a result, if I have to type a hyphen, or much more rarely the plus sign or equals sign, I usually choose to type them with my middle finger. These are always awkward motions to make but thankfully, they don't come up very often apart from the hyphen.🏁
