Terms of Service

Welcome to TypeGG! We are a competitive typing platform operated by TYPEGG LTD, a company registered in England, United Kingdom.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the TypeGG platform (typegg.io and related services). By accessing or using TypeGG, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not access or use our services.

When we say "TypeGG," "we," "us," or "our," we refer to TYPEGG LTD.

When we say "TypeGG platform" or "services," we mean the website typegg.io, its subdomains, and any related applications or services that link to these Terms.

Please read these Terms carefully.

I. YOUR ACCOUNT

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activities that occur under it.

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
  • You must not share your account credentials or allow others to access your account.
  • You must not create multiple accounts to circumvent bans, manipulate leaderboards, or gain unfair advantages.
  • You must immediately notify us at support@typegg.io if you become aware of any unauthorized access to your account.

We reserve the right to disable any account or username at our discretion, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.

II. FAIR PLAY AND ANTI-CHEAT

Competitive integrity is fundamental to TypeGG. Cheating and dishonest competition will not be tolerated.

You agree that you will not:

  • Use any software, scripts, bots, macros, or automation tools to artificially enhance your typing speed, accuracy, or performance.
  • Modify, reverse-engineer, or tamper with the TypeGG client, game code, or network communications.
  • Exploit bugs, glitches, or vulnerabilities to gain unfair advantages (please report these to us instead).
  • Collude with other players to manipulate race outcomes or leaderboard standings.
  • Use multiple accounts to artificially inflate rankings or statistics.
  • Interfere with other players' gameplay experience or connection.
  • Misrepresent your identity or impersonate other players.

Consequences: Violations may result in warnings, temporary suspensions, permanent bans, removal from leaderboards, and forfeiture of any prizes or rankings. We use automated systems and manual review to detect cheating, and our decisions are final.

III. ACCEPTABLE USE

When using TypeGG, you agree that you will not:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
  • Harass, threaten, abuse, or harm other users.
  • Post or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, discriminatory, hateful, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Spam, advertise, or solicit other users without authorization.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, servers, or other users' accounts.
  • Disrupt or interfere with our services, including through denial-of-service attacks or excessive automated requests.
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from TypeGG without our written permission.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute access to TypeGG.
  • Circumvent any security measures or access restrictions we implement.

You may create and monetize content featuring TypeGG (such as streams, videos, or tutorials) without prior permission.

IV. USER CONTENT

TypeGG allows users to submit content such as profile information and chat messages ("User Content").

Your Responsibilities:

  • You are solely responsible for your User Content and any consequences of posting it.
  • You must not post content that violates any person's privacy or publicity rights.
  • You must not post content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.

License to Us:

By submitting User Content to TypeGG, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating and promoting our services.

Our Rights:

We may, but are not obligated to, monitor, review, or remove any User Content at our sole discretion. We are not responsible for any User Content posted by users.

TypeGG is a community-driven typing practice platform. Typing content (quotes) is created and submitted by community members, often from published works. All typing content is freely accessible to all users. TypeGG is funded by advertising and optional subscriptions.

TypeGG has adopted the following policy concerning copyright infringement in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. 512. The contact information for TypeGG's Designated Agent to Receive Notification of Claimed Infringement ("Designated Agent") is listed at the end of this section and is on file with the United States Copyright Office (https://www.copyright.gov/dmca-directory/).

It is TypeGG's policy to:

  • Expeditiously remove or disable access to content that we believe in good faith may infringe the copyrights of third parties.
  • Remove content and, in appropriate circumstances, terminate accounts of repeat infringers.

Reporting Copyright Infringement:

If you believe that content on TypeGG infringes your copyright, please send a notice to the Designated Agent containing:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work(s) claimed to have been infringed.
  3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with information reasonably sufficient to allow us to locate it.
  4. Your contact information (address, telephone number, and email address).
  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

VI. GG+ SUBSCRIPTIONS AND PAYMENTS

TypeGG offers optional premium features through GG+ subscriptions.

Billing:

  • By subscribing to GG+, you authorize us to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your selected plan).
  • Subscription fees are charged in advance at the beginning of each billing period.
  • All fees are stated in the currency displayed at checkout and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.

Cancellation and Refunds:

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you will retain access to GG+ features until then.
  • We generally do not provide refunds for partial subscription periods. However, if you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact us at support@typegg.io.
  • We reserve the right to offer refunds or credits at our sole discretion.

Price Changes:

  • We may change subscription prices at any time. Price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing period following notice to you.
  • If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.

VII. PROMOTIONS AND RAFFLES

TypeGG may offer promotional raffles and giveaways from time to time, such as the Daily Quote Raffle.

Daily Quote Raffle:

  • Each day you complete the daily quote, you earn one raffle ticket for that month.
  • On the 1st of each month, winners are randomly selected from the previous month's participants using weighted random selection (more tickets = higher chance of winning).
  • Winners receive 1 month of GG+ as their prize. If you already have an active GG+ subscription, your subscription will be extended.
  • No purchase is necessary to participate. Simply complete the daily quote each day to earn tickets.

Eligibility:

  • All registered users are eligible to participate, except TypeGG staff members (administrators and moderators).
  • You must have a valid account in good standing to claim prizes.

General Terms:

  • Winner usernames may be displayed publicly on the platform.
  • We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any promotion at any time without prior notice.
  • We reserve the right to disqualify any participant who we believe has violated these Terms or engaged in fraudulent activity.
  • Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other items.
  • Our decisions regarding winner selection and prize distribution are final.

VIII. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Our Intellectual Property:

TypeGG, the TypeGG logo, and all content, features, and functionality of our services (including but not limited to text, graphics, software, and design) are owned by TYPEGG LTD or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our services or intellectual property without our prior written consent.

Your Rights:

These Terms do not grant you any right, title, or interest in our services or intellectual property, except for the limited right to use our services in accordance with these Terms.

TypeGG may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (such as Google, Discord, or GitHub for authentication).

  • We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites or services.
  • Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
  • We do not endorse any third-party websites or services.

X. PRIVACY

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

By using TypeGG, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

XI. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

OUR SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

  • Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
  • Any warranty that our services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
  • Any warranty regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any content on our services.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you.

XII. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TYPEGG LTD AND ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
  • Any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill.
  • Any damages arising from your use of or inability to use our services.
  • Any damages arising from unauthorized access to or alteration of your data.
  • Any damages exceeding the amounts you have paid to us (if any) in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

XIII. INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TYPEGG LTD and its directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of our services.
  • Your violation of these Terms.
  • Your violation of any third party's rights.
  • Your User Content.

XIV. ACCOUNT TERMINATION

Termination by You:

You may stop using TypeGG at any time. To delete your account, please contact us at support@typegg.io.

Termination by Us:

We may suspend or terminate your access to TypeGG at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Reasons for termination may include, but are not limited to:

  • Violation of these Terms.
  • Cheating or fraudulent activity.
  • Conduct that we believe is harmful to other users or our services.
  • Extended periods of inactivity.
  • Requests by law enforcement or government agencies.

Effect of Termination:

Upon termination:

  • Your right to use our services will immediately cease.
  • We may delete or anonymize your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  • Any provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect (including, but not limited to, intellectual property provisions, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification).

XV. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last Modified" date at the top of this page.
  • Notify you through our services or via email (if you have provided one).

Your continued use of TypeGG after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using our services.

XVI. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Dispute Resolution:

  • We encourage you to contact us first at support@typegg.io to resolve any disputes informally.
  • If informal resolution is unsuccessful, any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

For EU/EEA Users:

If you are a consumer in the European Union or European Economic Area, you may also have the right to submit disputes to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.

XVII. GENERAL PROVISIONS

Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TYPEGG LTD regarding your use of our services.

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.

No Third-Party Beneficiaries: These Terms do not create any third-party beneficiary rights.
