The Huronian Supergroup within the map area faces south and comprises, in ascending order; Elsie Mountain Formation, Stobie Formation, Copper Cliff Formation, and McKim Formation of the Elliot Lake Group and the Ramsey Lake Formation, Pecors Formation, and Mississagi Formation of the Hough Lake Group. The Elsie Mountain Formation is predominantly highly metamorphosed mafic volcanic rocks and minor interbedded wacke with very few primary features preserved. The Stobie Formation is mainly wacke, arenite, and conglomerate with minor interbedded mafic volcanic rocks which have been intruded by very coarse grained gabbro. The Copper Cliff Formation comprises metamorphosed felsic flows and pyroclastic rocks that pinch out west of Garson. McKim Formation is composed of arenite and wacke with minor conglomerate and is not well exposed within the map area. The base of the Hough Lake Group is the Ramsey Lake Formation composed of pebbly wacke and wacke which is overlain by wacke and siltstone of the Pecors Formation. Mississagi Formation quartzite and arenite intruded by Nipissing Gabbro are at the top of stratigraphy in the map area. In Blezard Townhip, the Murray Granite intrudes the Elsie Mountain Formation.🏁
